![]() So see how much your insurance will eventfully pay out and if that u can pay just that amount. Ie: my United Healthcare plan only pays only about $40 per each session while the full price is $225. If you already met your deductible, the insurance company would probably only pay the doctor less than half that amount - they get heavily discounted rates. Definitely ask the doc or billing office if they have a package deal. I started at 15 seconds and worked up 10 minutes (but I have olive skin). I am paying out of pocket at this point as I need to reach a deductible of 3K before my insurance kicks in.Īll comments will be greatly appreciated!! I'm wondering if I should talk with him (or the billing dept) or is this common (starting out with with such minimal exposure and the average cost of the treatment). If you use light treatments, how long are your sessions and how much does your doc charge? I am being charged $100 per session which adds up to $1200 for literally less than 5 mins of treatment combined. The treatment plan is working wonderful!! My legs haven't looked this good EVER and I am very grateful! So now after 12 treatments I still am at only 45 secs ish. ![]() Because I am very fair skinned, he said we would work up to about 5 mins but would only start with 20 secs ish. ![]() When I went to the derm, he recommended topical meds and light treatments (3x/wk). I went from having lesions only on my legsto on my feet (bottom and top) to above my knees, starting on thighs, my hands covered and so on. My legs were tender and burning, my skin was literally throbbing. ![]() Over the years it was 2 steps forward and 3 back but always tolerable.įast forward to now, after having a very sick winter and needing to be on Prednisone 6 times in 3.5 months my P flared up so bad. The 'itchies' stopped so although the lesions were all over my legs, knees and elbows, my logic was "it's ugly but it's not going to kill me". When the doc told me he wanted me to try photo therapy but I'd be more susceptible to skin cancer I stopped treatment. The 1st year I tried all the topical medications on the market as well as cortisone shots right into the largest legion. My P started right after I had a baby, 19 years ago. Let me start by thanking everyone for their kindness in sharing all of their experiences! ![]()
